Meet Liz
BA, MACP
Hi, I’m Liz Cox, a therapist grounded in trauma‑informed, strengths‑based, and mind‑body approaches—passionate about guiding growth, healing, and lasting change for clients across all walks of life. I bring warmth and curiosity to my practice, offering a space free from judgement, where you are safe to explore thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
My journey includes deep personal healing: after a serious mountain biking accident, I experienced chronic pain firsthand and discovered how mind‑body work can transform pain and emotional distress into renewed vitality. Working in the modalities of pain psychotherapy, my pain decreased dramatically—shaping my belief that genuine healing is possible and inspiring my therapeutic practice.
In addition to my therapeutic work, I own and operate a mountain bike coaching company. I frequently work through various channels to provide coaching to underrepresented groups such as women, LGBTQ2S+, and youth. I am passionate about giving back to my local community, and deeply believe in the value of recreational access, and time spent in nature.
My Approach
Trauma‑informed & strengths‑based: I focus on your resilience and inner resources, anchored in empathy and unconditional positive regard.
Mind‑body integration: Because our bodies hold our stories, I support healing through techniques like CBT, Narrative Therapy, Pain Reprocessing Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy, and mindfulness—that honour the whole person.
Safe, inclusive space for LGBTQ2S+ individuals: As part of the community myself, I deeply understand experiences around identity, internalized stigma, and coming‑out. My aim is to affirm and empower, helping you reconnect with your authentic self.
